Since 1978 when the Dodgers and Yankees played in World Series rematches, we haven't seen one since then. So I am not tempted to make a prediction for another Dodgers-Rays Fall Classic. Although both the White Sox (Braves) and White Sox (White Sox) have been in a slump this season, they are now peaking at the right times. Atlanta finished the regular season winning 12 of its final 14 games. This was even more than Seattle's (11-3) record. Ian Anderson's returning should provide the Braves with the necessary rotation depth to get through the NL playoffs. However, in the World Series they will fall to the White Sox, and Georgia native Dylan Cease. Cease is poised for stardom in Chicago's inaugural title run since 2005.

The current streak without a repeat World Series winner is the longest drought in MLB, NBA NFL and NHL history. In fact, the Dodgers' NL West-winning streak ended with 106 wins. To me, all of this adds up to this year being the end of the dry spell. Clayton Kershaw's injury and Max Muncy’s injury put doubt on their dominance. But we have seen far more amazing things than a team with 106 wins winning the Fall Classic. And what if the Giants won in five? I would pencil them in for the World Series title. They are both very good NL West teams. This is the first MLB season that two teams of 105+ wins have been part of the same league. The strength in West seems unmatched.

WS MVP Devers
I am terrible at making predictions so I have adopted the George Costanza strategy. I chose the round and then wrote down my opponent. Costanza chose chicken salad with untoasted rye. And I'm choosing Boston over St. Louis. It's 2013. Jon Lester has changed his mind. If I were to do the opposite, I'd pick the Dodgers in a five-game World Series. The Red Sox do not have the bullpen to sustain an extended run. And I believe the Cardinals, as good as they've played, will be eliminated by the Dodgers. However, I believe that these things will result in the opposite. You can have chicken salad. Baseball Picks - Winning Is Easy
